Rediscovery
I know, I'm not exactly a prolific journal writer, this is probably due to the chaotic nature of the way I work. Sometimes I go months when I think I'm unable to create anything, but when I look back I find a whole range of sketches and little art pieces that almost made themselves.
I don't know how the rest of you work, but a lot of my art is instinctive and happens out of a need to portray an idea or an emotion, the feelings need to solidify on paper or in clay. This is a need rather than a desire.
The other side of my work is responding to outside stimuli, and the enjoyment of following a theme set by others to create something new.
I
Just doing ART...
Rather than set any projects or focus on one particular thing, I'm just doing bits and bobs when time permits.Thank You for looking at this page.
I hope you like my work
Cool Idea
I have been a little quiet with my artwork recently, I'm exploring some photographic work and still a little focused (no pun intended) on trees and landscape images.
I would really like to get some cool misty landscape shots and also find some locations where streetlamps don't pollute the night sky so I can get the wonder of the universe into some images.
Thanks to Neil Gaiman for the skin (and also for some great stories especially Neverwhere, American Gods and Coraline)
The influence of a good book
Its been a while since I updated my journal, I have been trying to be a little more regular with submissions to the gallery and keep forgetting to do a journal update.
The Gallery is a bit of a mixed batch because I think its more representative too show experimentation as well as your best work and I do like to experiment. ;)
I have been doing a lot of Cthulhu Mythos work lately, probably because I'm re-reading the works of Lovecraft at the moment.
Looking back through my gallery I realise how heavily I'm inspired by the books I'm reading which probably means I should read more :)
There are so many wonderful and thought provoking books
