Katricca Marr part 5The next few days were filled with the 'normal' Hum-drum of human life, Sally busied herself with daily chores and Katricca noticed the girl had also taken to gazing out to sea in her own dreamy way, on Katricca's questioning, Sally said she was thinking about 'other places' without oceans, which Katricca took to mean Cellel, until Thursday, that was when things changed.
Sally's lessons had moved on at a remarkable pace since her second exposure to the Synchronicity, her understanding of things, was now much clearer and she had even retained the ability to understand Conferbulan ('Basic dialect', although she was unable to converse in it, mainly due to the physical structure of her vocal chords and breathing apparatus) Thursday's lesson centred on temporal causality and its effects on the metaverse; but the girl seemed very distracted and eventually Katricca decided she was pushing too hard and Sally pr
Katricca Marr part 4Well before dawn the next day they moved toward the railway station careful to avoid being seen by anyone, Sally turned off and moved to the tracks, taking the bags and dressed in a tatty shawl and a pair of spectacles that did nothing for her persistent headache. She hopped over the fence and settled down a few hundred yards up the line from the station and waited.
Katricca made her way to the signal box, still disguised as Sally's uncle, although a slightly younger version in a better fitting suit. She walked with a purpose and determination that suggested she belonged there and then the stage was set.
The first train went into the station as normal and then left again in a billow of steam. Katricca watched carefully from her position near the signal box and saw two police men and the figure of Mr Redford stomping around on the little platform as she had expected. Katricca Marr part 2"Sally you are my companion and I hope my friend, I would not want that situation to end, especially since you came to my aid and didn't immediately judge me" Katricca continued to gently stroke the girls hair and the sobbing began to abate.
"I'm very sorry for everything Miss, truly I am" sally said looking up into the violet eyes again.
Katricca sat back down on the bed after retrieving the fallen ice fruit.
"Doesn't that burn you too?" Sally sniffed
"No" Katricca said eating the fruit "I think you have earned an explanation" she said after much inward consideration.
"What did you see in the barn? She began
"I I don't know Miss, but it had your eyes, that's how I Knew it must be you"
Katricca considered her answer for a moment trying to think how to explain to the human.
"And where do you think I am from?" she said at last
"I don't know miss, I thought, what with your name and all you might be from Eastern Europe, but your not, are you miss?" Sally sniffed and looked down at the
